Purpose / Job Description:


Food Service Manager in training will report to Food Nutrition Director and will be working to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to students and staff during the school year.

Applicant must have a high standard of competency in food service mgmt.

Qualifications:


-High School Diploma or GED equivalent
-Food Manager's Certification approved by Texas Department
of Health Services
-Must have satisfactory outcome on the Fingerprinting Background Check (FACT system) - $50.00 approximately (paid by employee)
- Experience in this field preferred

Responsibilities / Duties:


-Planning, Preparation and Service of Breakfast/Lunch/Snacks and
perform cleanup operations related to these duties
-Training of other food service staff
-Record keeping of inventory
-Work with Food Nutrition Director on menu planning and production records
-Health Code Compliance
-Maintain necessary logs pertaining to child nutrition services

Working Conditions:


Physical demands will include speaking clearly, carrying, lifting and lowering of 1 to 30 pounds. Intermittent sitting, walking, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions. Must be able to work in walk-in refrigerator/freezer for short periods of time. Able to work with hot soapy water and slippery surfaces, and knowledge of high-temperature dish washing machine. Must also have working knowledge of commercial kitchen and cooking equipment.

Additional Information:


Food Service Workers will be required to assist in CNP fundraisers.

Due to health certifications:
- No jewelry in food service areas
- No long polished fingernail
- Hair must be tied back (if long) and hairnet required at all times
- Information on clothing requirements and shoes for food service area
will be provided during interviews

  • Special Note:
Food service workers will not be required to attend staff development
days (unless training required for all staff) and will have holidays and
summer days off (paid) with completion of their one year at-will
agreement.
