About TASN
The Texas Association for School Nutrition (TASN) is a professional organization dedicated to supporting and promoting school nutrition professionals and programs in Texas. Established in 1954 as the Texas School Food Service Association, TASN has over 5,100 members and is one of the largest state school nutrition associations in the nation. TASN supports its members through professional development opportunities, resources, and advocacy efforts, enabling them to improve their skills, stay informed about best practices and policies, and ultimately deliver better nutrition access and services to students. This enhances the effectiveness and impact of school nutrition professionals in their roles.
The association organizes events, offers certification programs, and provides networking opportunities for members. Additionally, TASN engages in legislative advocacy to influence policies affecting school nutrition.
