How to submit a nomination

  1. Choose a position. Review the qualifications and select the role that fits the nominee’s experience and membership eligibility.
  2. Get the nominee’s consent. You may nominate yourself or someone else. If nominating a colleague, speak with them first and confirm that they agree to be nominated.
  3. Discuss the commitment with the supervisor. Review the role and time away from the district, then request a letter approving the nominee’s candidacy.
  4. Gather all four required uploads. Prepare the biography, resume, headshot and supervisor approval letter listed below.
  5. Complete and submit the online form. Enter the nominee’s information, select the position and upload all four items by Friday, Nov. 20, 2026.

Required uploads for every nomination

  • Short professional biography: Use the biography template provided in the nomination form.
  • Resume
  • Headshot
  • Supervisor approval letter: A letter from the nominee’s immediate supervisor approving their candidacy.

Upload the biography, resume and approval letter as Word documents or PDFs. Upload the headshot in a format accepted by the form, such as JPG, PNG or PDF.

Have the nominee’s school district, mailing address, mobile number and email address ready, along with the submitter’s name and phone number.

Nominating a colleague? Work with them to gather the required materials. You must complete the full form and upload all four items when you submit their nomination.

Submit your nomination

What happens after you submit?

TASN Headquarters verifies each nominee’s qualifications. Nomination materials are then forwarded to the Nominating Committee for review and interviews.

The committee considers each nominee’s professional experience, association service, goals for the role and support of TASN’s strategic plan. It also considers representation from across Texas when selecting candidates.

The committee presents its list of candidates to the Board of Directors at the February board meeting. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee a place on the election ballot. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at a meeting.
