Purpose / Job Description:


Responsible for supervising all aspects of the day-to-day food service operation of assigned cafeterias to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, district and department guidelines, policies, and procedures in the administering of all federal meal programs. Develop district wide menus working with menu planning computerized systems, nutrition education, administering SHAC committee and others as assigned.

Responsibilities / Duties:


Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and administering all areas and aspects of the NSLP (National School Lunch Program), SBP (School Breakfast Program), Afterschool Snack program, and SFSP or SSO (Summer Food Service Program or Seamless Summer Option) meal programs.

Develop district monthly menus in coordination with Director and keep menu planning software updated and in compliance.

Coordinate catering and assist with catering activities.

Using On-Site Reviews, Quality Assurance and Meal Observation Reports, Cafeteria and Production Record Audits, visit assigned school sites to monitor and conduct audits.

Ensure state and federal compliance to NSLP, SBP, etc. to meal program regulations being administered,
Monitor and ensure compliance to food preparation methods, food quality and customer acceptability procedures.

Coordinate and lead district SHAC committee, update wellness policy.

Coordinate and follow-up to determine acceptable outcomes to maintenance concerns, work orders, kitchen/cafeteria modifications, and any other operational issues.

Fill in at campuses when short staff or manager is out.

Develop corrective action or improvement plans depending on audit results and follow-up to ensure completion.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES:

Directly supervises 4 cafeteria managers and hourly staff at six campuses.

Directs and supervises the tasks of managers and employees; evaluates manager and employee performance formally and informally.

Responsible for training others in multiple/complex tasks and procedures or subjects. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
