Purpose / Job Description:


Support the Director FANS in all areas of the operation. This position will assist with management of the food and
nutrition program, supervise district food service operations, and oversee financial and personnel management.
Ensure district, department, and school facilities are in compliance with all local, state, and federal policies and
procedures.

Responsibilities / Duties:


Oversee supervisors FANS to ensure campus sites are monitored to meet all federal, state, local, and district
regulations, policies, and procedures
Coordinate staffing for all regular school calendar days, special programs, and summer school
Interpret personnel policies and procedures to provide assistance with employee disciplinary process
Develop and monitor employee recruiting and retention strategies
Schedule and hire staff to meet the needs of the department
Oversee district concessions operations to ensure program is cost effective and efficient
Plan and organize employee recognition programs
Develop, coordinate, and administer FANS professional learning
Assist with preparation and administration of the annual budget
Develop standards and procedures for all program areas including financial management, personnel
management, and student services
Assist with developing short and long-range marketing plan and promotional programs
Assist with developing purchasing guidelines to ensure food products and supplies reflect customer
preferences, district needs, and nutritional objectives
Ensure bids are written and awarded in accordance with federal and state procurement regulations
Act as management team member in the development and implementation of department goals
Establish and monitor standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP)
regulations
Assume responsibilities of the FANS operation in the absence of the director
Attend and participate in all meetings as scheduled by the food service director or designee
Participate in departmental administrative functions including budgeting, purchasing, and planning as related to
the development and updates of operational and strategic plan
Attend workshops, district staff development sessions, and other continuing education courses that develop and maintain professional credentials for this position
Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisor
Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
Perform other functions that may be assigned by the administration and/or supervisor

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands:
Frequent district wide and/or state wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent standing,
sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds;
prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions
Environmental Factors:
Work inside commercial kitchen environment; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, extreme
humidity, noise, vibration, microwaves, biological hazards (bacteria, mold, fungi), chemical hazards (fumes,
vapors, gases), electrical hazards; work with hands in water; work around machinery with moving parts; work on slippery surfaces
