Base Salary=$57,000 (Actual salary will be calculated based on experience)

Purpose / Job Description:


Plan, develop and manage student meal plans to ensure an efficient, productive, customer service oriented child nutrition program that fulfills regulatory requirements, meets the nutritional requirements for students, promotes the development of sound nutritional practices, and maintains a safe, sanitary and inviting environment and determine nutritional adequacy in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree in Food & Nutrition, Home Economics, Institutional Management, Hotel & Restaurant Manage or related field preferred
Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required
Member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
ServSafe certification preferred

Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and Texas Department of Agriculture rules and regulations for public school nutrition programs
Knowledge of quantity food production methods and procedures
Expertise in recipe standardization, development, and testing
Familiar with school based software programs for nutritional analysis
Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office & Google products and the ability to learn new systems and programs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills resulting in exceptional rapport with people
Proven success in initiating, promoting and maintaining strong interpersonal relations
Able to deal courteously, professionally, and tactfully with the general public in a variety of circumstances
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, plan work, and work effectively with students, staff, and faculty
Ability to develop ideas, create goals, and market school food

Working Conditions:


Maintain emotional control under stress.
Regularly required to stand and walk, and occasionally required to reach, balance, stoop, kneel, twist and bend.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat.
